W.H. WILLIAMS Pr.Arch.
As architects we address the need within the built environment for a profession to accept overall responsibility for the management and control of the design and construction process of building projects.
In consultation with the client we are able to assess the scope of the project, prepare design proposals, assemble an engineering and financial team, prepare tender documentation for tendering purposes and supervise the construction process to its final completion. Throughout the process the financial viability of the project is strictly monitored.
Existing buildings receive the same expert consideration through a process of built resource management where the possibilities of upgrading and renovation are assessed together with the financial viability of such projects.
Informal sector development projects entail a participative role by the practice in initiating and managing the building process in consultation with community structures.
Bill Williams joined the firm Alwyn J. Lubbe & Associates in 1994. The firm had at that stage been established in Durban for over 20 years. Mr Lubbe retired that year and sold his practice to a Newcastle based firm called Leach & van der Walt. Bill Williams managed the Durban office until he bought it out in 2001, under the new name of Williams Associate Architects.
The practice computerised in 1995 and now use the latest in CAD design & technology for all our work. The practice is an affirmative action employer and provides ongoing training opportunities for technical staff.
Bill Williams graduated from UND in 1993. He has been practicing for over 25 years. He has specialised in church design but has architectural experience in schools, factories, shops, service stations, cluster and individual housing design.
